(Lucknow): Following their participation in the Prayagraj Kumbh, more than 200 Naga sadhus from the Shri Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhada and Atal Akhada will begin a sacred five-day Panchkroshi Yatra around the ancient city of Kashi. The pilgrimage will be led by Akhada Parishad officials, including President Ravindra Puri, along with several mahants, thanapatis, and secretaries.
The yatra will begin with a ceremonial bath at Manikarnika Ghat, followed by prayers at the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the most revered sites in Hinduism. After this, the sadhus will board boats to Assi Ghat, their next stop, before continuing the journey to Kardameshwar Mahadev Temple for their first overnight halt.
The journey will cover five key locations spaced approximately five kos (about 15 kilometres) apart. The subsequent days will take the sadhus to Bhimchandi, Rameshwar Mahadev Temple, Panchon Pandava, and Kapildhara—each sacred site marked by prayers and traditional rituals. The pilgrimage will culminate with the return to Manikarnika Ghat and a final visit to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, bringing the journey full circle.
This sacred yatra is not only a spiritual journey for the Naga sadhus but also a continuation of their traditions and rituals, strengthening their bond with the holy land of Kashi. The event will conclude with an official meeting where responsibilities will be assigned before the sadhus head to their respective destinations.
